About Denon

For over a century, Denon has crafted cutting-edge audio products that deliver ultimate detail. Its Japanese heritage inspires every product, hand-tuned by Denon's own sound master to achieve the brand's iconic sound signature — from AV receivers with the strength to power a full home theatre, to wireless speakers designed to fit naturally on counters, nightstands and desks.

Connect everything, stream anything: HEOS lets Denon's music take centre stage, making whole-home sound easy across AVRs and wireless speakers alike, so listeners can choose premium components that fit their space and how they listen.

Reference Point proudly represents Denon in India, bringing over a century of Japanese audio engineering — from hi-fi separates to full Dolby Atmos home theatre systems — to Indian homes.

Since 1910

“Crafting cutting-edge audio products that deliver on ultimate detail, inspired by our Japanese heritage.”

01

Japan's first audio company

In 1910, American entrepreneur Frederick Whitney Horn started Nippon Chikuonki Shokai — Japan's first-ever audio equipment company, and the root of what would become Denon.

02

A name that speaks two languages

The Denon name was born in 1963 as a contraction of "Denki Onkyo" — Japanese for "electric sound" — a deliberate identity built to evoke the link between electronics and sound reproduction, for a brand always destined to be global.

03

Hand-tuned by a Sound Master

Every Denon product is hand-tuned by the brand's own Sound Master — the only way, Denon says, to develop the refined, vivid sound quality present across its current range, from AV receivers to Denon Home wireless speakers.
