About Atlas Cables
Atlas designs and engineers, in Scotland, a world-class range of audiophile analogue, digital, loudspeaker and power cables acclaimed and sold worldwide. Every Atlas cable is hand-made by a skilled Atlas technician, each of whom takes a great deal of pride in their work.
Atlas applies a carefully calibrated blend of engineering expertise, design insight and a clear focus on proven manufacturing principles, so that cables across the range achieve even-handed, consistent performance in any audio application.
Reference Point proudly represents Atlas Cables in India, bringing Scottish-engineered, hand-made cabling to systems where the connection between components matters as much as the components themselves.
The Essential Elements
“There's little point in using a high-purity conductor if you then compromise performance with inadequate screening or a low-quality dielectric.”
01
Conductor & dielectric quality
For analogue cables, Atlas uses only OFC (Oxygen-Free Copper) for its Upgrade-level products, and OCC (Ohno Continuous Casting) copper for its Aspire and High End ranges. Dielectrics favour PEF, FEP and PTFE — including a unique Atlas microporous PTFE with trapped air cells for a clearly measurable improvement.
02
Connector design & screening
Signal pins are typically made from the same material as the conductor for maximum continuity, refined into the Ultra Latik RCA, Achromatic X RCA, Achromatic Z and Transpose Modular Speaker Connectors. Comprehensive screening on every product is joined by the proprietary Dual Drain precision method and, on select Aspire/High End cables, the Grun Coherent Ground System.
03
Hand-assembled, no solder
Atlas avoids soldered joints, using its own precision cold-weld (crimping) tools for direct, airtight metal-to-metal contact. Manufacturing in-house also means Atlas can recondition, re-terminate or upgrade an existing cable — protecting the customer's investment for years.
Performance Level System
Element to Arran — Three Tiers, Six Ranges
Introduced Munich 2023
Upgrade — Element, EquatorA substantial step up from bundled manufacturer cables; Element is Atlas's most comprehensive range, with a cable for almost every audio or video need. OFC conductor quality throughout.
Aspire — Hyper, AilsaA taste of Atlas's high-end offerings — higher-quality materials, more advanced construction including Dual Drain shielding, and superior connector options on select products. Hyper is long-established and frequently commended for value.
High End — Mavros, ArranAtlas's most advanced design and manufacturing capability, for the world's finest hi-fi equipment. Mavros is a long-established, multi-award winner; Arran is Atlas's finest OCC copper cabling, setting a new performance standard.
Popular combinationMavros interconnects paired with Hyper speaker cables — a system that earned Atlas three consecutive years in Part-Time Audiophile magazine's Buyers Guide awards.
The system is not rigid — products from different levels can be combined, and incremental gains exist within a level (e.g. Element to Equator), though the largest gains generally come from moving up a level. Specifications subject to change without notice.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where are Atlas Cables made?+
Every Atlas cable is designed and hand-made in Scotland, assembled in-house using Atlas's own precision cold-weld crimping tools rather than soldered joints.
Which Atlas range is right for my system?+
Atlas's Performance Level system groups its ranges into three tiers — Upgrade (Element, Equator), Aspire (Hyper, Ailsa) and High End (Mavros, Arran) — as a simple guide to choosing and planning future upgrades. It isn't rigid, so products from different levels can be mixed in one system.
Can an older Atlas cable be upgraded or repaired?+
Yes — Atlas's "Your Cable. Our Promise." initiative covers reconditioning, re-terminating a cable into two shorter lengths, or upgrading an older cable with Grun-enabled shielding or the latest connectors, since manufacturing in-house gives Atlas the flexibility to customise, modify or repair its own products.
